Class 4 Victorians
As part of their history topic Class 4 (after the fun of Christmas jumpers and dinner) settled down into a Victorian afternoon. They all got to experience a little of what school would be like in Victorian times, completing handwriting with pen and ink, sewing, writing on slates and making peg dolls. We are pleased to say the Dunce’s Hat was only used a couple of times. On reflection most children felt they enjoyed school more as it is today, they did not understand how the children would be able to learn anything if they had to keep standing up and sitting down every time someone came in the room and how could they find out about things if they were not allowed to ask questions.
