Tweed Foundation - River Invertebrates
Nursery, Class 2 and Class 4 all enjoyed a visit from Patrick Barbour from The Tweed Foundation this week. Patrick was up early and in the river by 6am to bring to school lots of invertebrates for the children to investigate. There was lots of cleaning to be done in-between sessions, but it was great to welcome a visitor back into school. The children could not believe how much life was in the river at this time of year.
Nursery came up with some brilliant questions to ask Patrick - Do they come out of the water? How do they breathe? Would we find an octopus in the river? Do they have a bed to sleep in? What do they eat? Do they live in families?
